Do your kids like history?
That’s okay, most of them don’t ;-).
However, spending some time at History For Kids just might get them interested in the past!
This site concentrates on the history of Europe, Asia, and Africa before 1500 AD. That means subjects like medieval Europe, Chinese dynasties, ancient Greece, the Ptolemaic rulerships of Egypt, Roman culture, and Islamic history are covered.
That may sound a bit dry to some, but take a look at how this site presents its subjects!
For instance, let’s take a look at Roman architecture. We see a graphic of the inside of a massive Roman building. The descriptive text is full of links to other parts of the site, so you can drill down and learn more about the Etruscans, the Aqueduct Period, Vespasian, the Colosseum, etc.
Once you drill down, you get more graphics and text with links.
In other words, your kids can spend hours at this site having fun AND learning history!
History for Kids is painstakingly indexed according to timeline and geographical area.
