Customize The Details View (2k/XP)

Windows Explorer allows you to choose from different views when displaying files and folders on your computer. The available views include: Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, List, and Details. If you choose the Details view, several columns will be displayed beside the name of each folder and file providing additional information.

You can customize the various details that are displayed for your folders and files. If specific information is not pertinent to you, there is no reason to have it displayed. You can customize the details by first switching to the Details view (click Details from the View menu). Then from the View menu, click the Choose Details option. To hide a specific detail such as Comments, select it from the list and click hide. Repeat the step for any additional details you do not want displayed and then close the Choose Details dialog box.
