Not everyone these days uses or has access to high-speed connections. Dial-up connections are still very popular and in some areas, still the only access method available. Typically Remote Desktop works well over high-speed connections but you can alter some of the settings to optimize the experience over dial-up connections.
One thing you can do is configure the correct speed of your connection through the Remote Desktop Connection dialog box. Click Start, point to All Programs, Accessories, Communications, and click Remote Desktop Connection. Select the Options button and then click the Experience tab. Use the drop down arrow to choose your connection speed. For even better performance, consider selecting a speed that is slightly slower than the actual speed of your connection. You can further optimize the connection by removing the checks beside the Themes and Bitmap caching options. Once you have configured the settings, you should experience better performance when using Remote Desktop Connection over your dial-up connection.

Why Apple

WHY TEACH APPLE IN SCHOOLS? Then send kids out into a MICROSOFT-DOMINATED work environment? It is as stupid to claim they LEARNED “computers,” as if they learned only Eskimo as a language.
(I KNOW you know someplace that only uses Apple. Don’t embarrass yourself by quoting nonsensical tiny percentages as a rebuttal.) Just Shut Up and I’ll Sum Up: Teach MS WINDOWS in school with familiarization course in Apple Graphics Progs, which ARE used a lot in Publishing Biz. Apple is OK — so is Eskimo.
