I did a little research and the last time Lockergnome looked at PhotoFiltre it was back in 2004. Now I am not one to rely on programs of the past, but I think PhotoFiltre deserves a second look. What is PhotoFiltre? It is just about the best freeware image editing and creating program out there today.

PhotoFiltre is the total package when it comes to a free image editing program. It allows you to do simple or advanced adjustments to an image and apply a vast range of filters on it. It is simple and intuitive to use, and has an easy learning curve. If you have used any other image editing software before, you should have no problems with PhotoFiltre.

The Web site for PhotoFiltre also has lots of great resources. You can get both plugins and tutorials via its Web site. PhotoFiltre is free for a private, non commercial, or educational use (including non-profit organizations). In this case, registration is not necessary. But commercial or professional use requires a registration.
