When I was 13, I loved to walk about three blocks to Showbiz Pizza Place to play video games. The coolest and most expensive game at the time was Dragon’s Lair. Its animated scenes looked nothing like the games we played then… Pac-Man, Galaga, Galaxian, Donkey Kong, and Pole Position. Even with all the fancy games and effects we have today, I still yearn for the games from the ’80s. When I got my Gameboy Advance, I received Namco Museum with it. Alas, the cartridge and several others took off with the lost socks.

A little later, I got hooked on Sierra’s adventure games. Actually, I played the first one, “Mystery House,” before I was 13, but Leisure Suit Larry and King’s Quest came later. At the end, it has 10 Places To Download Retro Games.

“As modern day gamers know, the gaming world is now driven by flashy 3D graphics and complex, movie-style scripts. Despite this, older gamers - and many younger players too -believe that retro games are the way to experience gameplay at its very best.

“The press continues to write about how gaming now generates as much revenue as blockbuster Hollywood movies and the music industry. The reason the gaming industry is now believed to be on par with other forms of entertainment is the overwhelming acceptance of gaming as a new, trendy culture.”
