Let’s take a look this kind of from a historical perspective. A long time ago ala DOS2 no windows early to mid ’80s. #1 a Firewall almost wasn’t needed and the average computer user was a real geek type, pretty savvy kinda guy. Oh what a difference 25 years can make.
Computer users now are used regularly by women, children and even old coots like me. I remember the days when Norton Anti Virus was a good product. Sadly than along came Symantec and turned it to pure garbage that’s usually part of mfr versions of Windows and ya can’t get rid of it unless you buy a real version of Windows from Microsoft. There’s been a good shake out over the years and now there are a few, good, limited products.
Sadly putting out a good well respected product is no longer enough. We must be a complex line of multi faceted products with one that might be good and the rest mediocre or just plain crap. Even come computer savvy users depend on a historically good name. Like a lot of folks did with Norton Anti Virus. The sad part is that Peter Norton retired and sold his business, adding his name in the bargain got him a few more bucks and Symantec knew it that;s why you have the Symantec crap of today. There’s a lot of and some “might” but as a rule it’s crap shoot, usually it’s not. So you kiss OEM butts and get it installed at buildup.
Zone Alarm is a damn good product and has been for years BUT! Zone Alarm got swallowed up by CheckPoint and ZA just hasn’t been the same since. I for one am on a search for a new Firewall product.
My thinking is go with a old company with a good reputation among users. The trick features or that new gadgets go well with Scott Tissue. READY - - WIPE!

Dear Sirs: Will you please tell me how an intity can take over my computer and hold it at bay while flooding me so bad I have to hit the reset in order to even shut the computer off. This happens when I try to go into just one chatroom. It is yahoo-messenger–60”15 the name that floods me is{{{diddlydooos}}}} or {{i_ride_alone}}} Is there some way that I can prevent this from happening. This is a nice room and we play music there. I do go to other rooms, but I would like to know how one prerson can hold my copmputer at bay like that. I do thank you for any assistance you might have to offer.
