Groovy! Outrageous! Totally rad and outtasite!
Those are a few slang terms that most parents recognize and understand. Others, such as cool, right on, and dy-no-mite have been around for some time, as well. Those are terms that are easy to understand. But our children have their own language, and with increasing use of the Internet, some of it is hard to understand. Today’s site shows one way to understand what is being said on your local computer.
The name of the product is called Teen Chat Decoder. This is a free program that lets users ‘crack’ the codes that are used in Internet chat rooms, Instant and Text Messaging programs. It’s no secret that kids have their own special language. They always have. Each generation develops its own slang, and parents have always been clueless as to what it all means. It’s really no different today. Kids still have their own special way of communicating, but with the invention of the Internet, chat rooms, text messaging technologies like Instant Messenger, and text to text cell phone messages, parents can and do get hopelessly lost in the jargon.
