Does this mean the end of the wonderful (and free) Sygate Personal Firewall? As reported by Red Herring:
Symantec will buy security startup Sygate for an undisclosed amount in an all-cash deal, the maker of the popular Norton anti-virus software said Tuesday.
Although no deal terms were disclosed, Symantec typically pays six to eight times the acquisition target’s revenue and is generally considered to be a healthy exit for investors.
The deal was announced after the market closed.
