Renamer v6.0

Such a simple task as renaming multiple files should not be that hard of a task. This should be something that is built into every operating system known to man! The simple fact of the matter is that it is not. When I try to do such things from inside Windows, I end up with a folder filled with files all with the same name. The only difference between them is a number following them or a “Copy of” prefix.

Right before I was ready to tear out all of my pretty long black hair from my massive melon, I ran across a free program that turned my frown upside down. It is called Renamer, and I do not know how I was able to exist without it.

One of the best features of Renamer is that all the editing and changes are performed in memory first, and when you are done, the changes are written to disk to avoid renaming by mistake. I have yet to see another renaming program provide this type of feature.

Renamer does one simple job and it does it well. The best part of this deal is that it is free. So give it a shot, and let me know what you think.
