Uninstall Microsoft Java VM

There are security exploits out there that take advantage of Microsoft’s Java VM. As a result, a few Lockergnome readers have asked how this component can be uninstalled from their computer. The steps are very simple and they are outlined below:

  1. Click Start and click Run.

  2. Type in the following command:
    RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection java.inf,UnInstall
After clicking OK or pressing Enter, a dialog box will appear.

  3. Click Yes to uninstall Microsoft Java VM.
  4. A dialog box will appear indicating that the component is being uninstalled.
