i like the look and feel of vista. the graphics are much better. however i see microsoft is up to it tactics of pushing anyone in their way out of it. i am talking about windows defender. there is no way that i can see to uninstall it or disable it. i have been using norton systemworks for years now with out a problem. why would i wand an unproven product over one that i know works. then you have the problem with microsoft search replacing google and yahoo search. then you have wga shutting down your internet access after an hour if you do not activate in so many days. i can completely understand why the eu is pushing microsoft so hard on vista. our government has been way to soft on them. microsoft seems to think that they can create what they want and force it on the consumer, and not give a damn about what the consumer wants in vista.

vista is cripple-wear, if you load it your stuck with it. You can’t go back , if you try to go back or reload XP Vista wipes out the drive , and it won’t work any more it wipes out the drives zero files and ID so guess what you have to throw it away and buy another one
So Vista gives you another 100 dollar problem.

Stay away from anything Microsoft until at least SP2. Gates and company has just gotten too big and to complex to do anything right the first time. They even had 6 different releases of DOS back in the day, before they gave up on it and shoved Windows on the world and life hasn’t been the same since.

Personally I’m going to look into MAC or Unix. I’ve been a Window user since day one and I’m getting sick of Microsoft getting lazy and greedy, doing away with perfectly good Operating Systems in the name of greed.

Windows 2000 is a perfect example of that, minor problems, sure but nothing like XP or the miscarriage that Vista has turned out to be. I have an XP CD I bought a Frys and it hasn’t installed properly yet after 4 tries, and this is no junk computer

AMD Athlon 64 X2 CPU

CPU Thermal Compound

M2V Motherboard, VIA 8T890 Chipset

Kingston KVR667D2N5K2/2G memory

EVGA 128-P2-N411LX GF7100GS AGP Video Card

XP should have installed on this computer no problem, none at all, but that hasn’t happened yet.
The really funny part is after DOS and Win3 I got all my OS’s from buddies at work without a problem. Now I get honest and buy XP and it turns to crap. Four time I’ve tried to install it and no go. I should have got an illegal copy instead, they work.
