Error message: “Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is located on the Internet, connect to the Internet. If the file is located on a removable storage card, insert the storage card.”
When this message is received, you can accomplish the following. (What was shown on Microsoft’s website-applies to previous versions). First, download Windows Media Player ver. 11. Go through the prompts to download and run it. Then, click the bottom of the ‘Now Playing’ button for a drop down menu. In that menu, select Plug Ins, and Options. In the options window, select the Player tab, and check the item Connect to the Internet (Overrides other commands) and OK. You’re there! This is not the steps listed on Microsoft’s fix.
