Slash Marks Are Removed From A Hyperlink In An Office XP Document

You create a hyperlink in a Microsoft Office XP document. If the URL address in the hyperlink contains two or more slash marks (/), the additional slash marks are removed from the URL address. If you rest the pointer on the hyperlink, the URL address that is displayed in the ScreenTip that appears contains only single slash marks.

Note: The slash marks that appear at the start of the URL address are not affected.

For example, you create a hyperlink that contains the following URL address in a Microsoft Word 2002 document:

http://URL_Address/path///URL_Redirect_Address

However, when you rest the pointer on the hyperlink, the following URL address is displayed in the ScreenTip:

http://URL_Address/path/URL_Redirect_Address
