We can FINALLY stop thinking Longhorn. Now we start plastering ‘Windows Vista’ all over the Internet. The announcement was made today at 6 a.m. PDT in Redmond.

It also says that the very first beta release will be to “Developers and IT Professionals” on August 3rd, 2005. I’m assuming, until further info comes in, that it means ‘TechNet Plus and MSDN subscribers.’ There is NO info available on the date of the first PUBLIC beta release.
