Microsoft has released its security bulletins for Windows for July 2005, and there are only three of them! But before we go into them, let Aunty warn you again, beware of fake Microsoft security bulletins, which will almost assuredly follow today’s actual security updates.
Today’s Microsoft Security Bulletins deal with three things: a vulnerability in MS Word, a security hole in the Windows color management module, and an issue with the Windows Jview Profiler.
The issue with Microsoft Word is that there is a remote code execution vulnerability, meaning that if the hole is not patched, someone could take control of your computer from afar. Systems affected by this vulnerability include Windows XP SP3, Microsoft Office 2000, and Microsoft Works Suites.
