Google moves on. Always. Here’s a move we should like: they’re releasing plugins for their Desktop Search tool. When first released, the search tool had modules that would handle 8 different file formats. Now, there appear to be DOZENS. Many more than I can list here!
The plugins cover so many different filters that it’s staggering. They cover not only file types, but what can only be described as ‘powertoys’ for Google Desktop Search. Carrying on that theme, the one that provides more configuration choices for Desktop Search itself is called TweakGDS :). This is an incredibly rich collection and I urge you to check it out IMMEDIATELY if you use Desktop Search.
