If you click a hyperlink to open a form in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you experience the following symptoms:
- You receive the following error message:
Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. - If you click the click here link in this error message, and then click the click here link to view technical information about the error report, the following information is displayed:
Exception Information
Code: 0xc0000005 - If you click Send Error Report or Don’t Send in this error message, you receive an error message that is similar to the following error message:
The instruction at “0×30cb05e4″ referenced memory at “0×00000000″. The memory could not be “written.”
Click on OK to terminate the program.
This problem occurs if the following conditions are true:
- The Internet Explorer Content Advisor feature is enabled.
- The Users can see sites that have no rating check box is selected on the Content Advisor General tab.
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Internet Explorer that contains this hotfix.
