Once you begin adding graphics to an Excel worksheet, you may notice that things will slow down a bit. If your worksheet is large with several graphics, you will notice some lag time as Excel tries to display the images. You can speed things up by using placeholders. So instead of displaying an actual graphic, Excel will display a box where the graphic is supposed to appear.
You can turn in placeholders for graphics by completing these steps:
- Within Excel, click the Tools menu and click Options.
- Click the View tab
- Under Objects, click Show placeholders.
- Click OK.
To turn off placeholders, repeat the steps above, only this time you will select Show all under the Objects section.
