Have you ever come across a message in a bottle while walking down the beach? Me, neither. I’m sure we’ve all heard tales of people who have deposited a message into the ocean and received a response years later from the individual who found the message. I know a lot of kids still do this. It’s the same idea as tying a message to a balloon and letting it take off into the great unknown - you never know who could end up finding it. Even if you don’t live near the water, you can still let your voice be heard through Message in a Bottle Server: Index.
The site allows you to write a message to be thrown into the sea. You select the area and what type of bottle you want to be used, and someone will print your message out, place it in a bottle, and drop it in the water. First of all, it seems extremely crazy to me that people actually wait around for these messages from random individuals on the Internet, and as if that was not enough, they then go through the trouble of carrying the procedure out. Whether it’s real or not, it would still be pretty fun to type out some random message that oozes with absurdity. On the other hand (assuming that this is real), you’re polluting the ocean, and that’s just not cool.
