Change The Position Of Your Headers And Footers

In a previous article I outlined how you can create and edit headers and footers. Not only can you customize the information that is displayed within your headers and footers, but you can also change where they appear on each page.

To change the position of your headers and footers:

1. Within your document, click within the header or footer you want to reposition.
2. From the File menu, click the Page Setup option. The Page Setup dialog box will appear.
3. Select the Layout tab.
4. Under the Headers and footers section, use the up and down arrows to alter the measurement. This will determine how far you want the header to appear from the top of the page.
5. Repeat the same process for the footer. The value will determine how far from the bottom of the page you want to footer located.
6. Next, use the drop down arrow under Apply to, to specify what part of the document your changes will be applied to.
7. Click OK.
