Watch Downloaded Movies On DVD Player?

Hi Dennis,Again, thanks for all of your hard work on your great newsletter, which is so much help for so many people. Now, my husband has a question regarding playback of downloaded DVD videos, movies, etc. He can download and burn these videos and can play them back on the computer. However, the problem is that we cannot play the movies on our DVD equipment (hooked up to your family television set). What is involved in this? Is there some kind of solution? Thanks so much for any assistance you might be able to give us.

hello i was wondering if you could help me i am downloading films and when i go to watch them on my windows media player i am not getting any picture but am getting sound do i need anything else other than the windows player to be able to watch i am new to this stuff would be much appreciated if you could help me yours sincerly matt aka [ muffie ]

Matt, it sounds like you need a codec to watch the downloaded film, the most common is Divx. Look on Google and download the codec, if that does not work, right click on the file you downloaded and find out what codec was used to compress the file, then dowload that codec.
