If you have a picture on your computer, you can include it in your document. From the Insert menu, point to Picture, and click From File. You will probably notice that Word defaults to the My Pictures folder. If you do not store your pictures here, you’ll have to browse to the folder that does contain the picture.
You may find that you are frequently using the Insert | Picture function in Word. If your pictures are not stored in the My Pictures folder, you may also find that browsing to the correct folder is an annoyance. With a few simple clicks, you can change the folder that Word defaults to when you insert a picture from a file.
- From the Tools menu, click Options.
- Select the File Locations tab.
- Select ClipArt Pictures from the File Types list.

- Navigate to the folder you want Word to default to.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
