Yub

Going to the mall is just as much a social experience as it is a shopping one. We may go to the mall all by our lonesome on occasion, but for the most part, you always see groups of people raiding havoc on the employees handing out samples in the food court. Until now, it has been difficult to emulate that social shopping environment online, but with Yub, your network of friends could possibly keep you out of the stores and chained to your computer.

This site allows you to join its community of users and talk about what’s worth buying, and what’s not. They even give you your own page to display pictures, talk about your interests, and so on. This high integration of community with shopping is interesting, and the good news is that it feels right. A good number of stores are available to shop through, and throughout the product catalog, you’ll find reviews from members of the site. If you actively take part in the community, it’ll feel like these words of advice are coming from friends, and what they say can have an impact on whether or not you purchase something. An extra incentive to use the service is that they give you 1% cash back rewards on anything you buy, and you’ll also earn 1% on products that your friends buy through you. That may not sound like a lot, but if you use the service regularly, and people respect what you have to say, a decent amount of money could come your way.
