When shopping for a new automobile, it’s important to examine a lot of different factors before agreeing to take on that new financial burden. Looks, power, and comfort are things that most of us tend to look at first, but we can’t forget about safety. If you ever end up wrapping your vehicle around a tree and live to talk about it, then you’ll have a much greater appreciation for the work that the engineers put into making your car safe. Progressive’s Web site has a collection of Crash Test Videos that will visually show you how some recent vehicle models fared in staged crashes.
Don’t expect to find every car model on the site - the collection is compact but informative. It feels kind of weird watching these videos, but the visual element will tell you more about the safety of the car than anything else. For a more enjoyable viewing experience, just imagine ballet music in the background while you watch the wrecks. Whether you care about automobile safety or just enjoy seeing crash test dummies get tossed around, the content should satisfy.

the structure of a vehicle and how it is designed can mean life or death. car manufacturers should take the time to designed their cars to the best of their ability. i am convinced that with all the technology out today all cars should have 5-star crash test ratings. the first and far WORST safety rating is the Pontiac Montana. general motors should be ashamed about their company. the reason they sold as many as they did is because they made the montana look like a high performance vehicle…it is not a high performance vehicle! this is what iihs replied after crash testing the Pontiac Montana:the vehicle left little survival space for the front occupants. the overall evaluation was poor. one thing that consumers really don’t think about is their cars crash test worthiness. when i become old enough to purchase me a vehicle the first thing i’ll ask is ”do you’ll have a copy of the crash test results and does it have side airbags?” if it does not have at least 4-stars in all 4 categories i’m most certainely not going to purchase it.
