Windows x64 Launch Date Set

For all of you who have been chomping at the bit to find out exactly WHEN the 64-bit version of Windows XP Pro will ship, you can now go back to sleeping at night. The date has been set for the opening of WinHEC on April 25th.

Bill Gates will attend for the launch on that date. There’s no indication of how long it will be before The Great Exchange Program will start, but I’ll let you know as soon as the info surfaces!

Now, in other news, Windows Server 2003 Release 2 is about to go into beta release. There’s no indication of exactly what will be new about this ‘second edition’ release, but even if they’d told me, I’d have to take poison rather than release the info. I suppose that WinHEC participants will find out, but whether that list makes the light of day is anybody’s guess.
