I have a small workgroup with a workstation running XP SP2 and a laptop running Win 2000. I have a netgear wireless switch between the two. The Workstation is connected via CAT 5 and the Laptop has a netgear PCMICA wireless card. I ran the home office network wizard on the workstation and set up identical accounts on the laptop and workstation with the same logins and passwords and both are part of the same workgroup, however the Laptop (Win2000) cannot access the worksation’s shared folders and files, but the workstation can access the laptop’s files and folders.

Even the Admin accounts on the laptop cannot access the workstation. Every time I try to access the workstation from the laptop, I get a Windows login screen asking me for a login that can access the workstation and if I put in an account that is on the workstation I get a message saying that the account is not accessable. What am I doing wrong at this point and what troubleshooting steps can I take to figure out why I cannot access the workstation and printers connected to the workstation?”
