Installing Optional Networking Components (2k/XP/03)

When you install an operating system such as Windows 2000 or Windows XP, some networking components you require may not be installed. If this is the case, it is relatively easy to add additional networking components.
To do so, open the Network Connections applet, and select Optional Networking Components from the Advanced menu. This launches the Windows Optional Networking Components Wizard.
Place a check mark beside the components you want to install.
Some components may contain a variety of services or protocols. In such cases, you can click the Details button to select which of them to install.
Once you’ve made the appropriate selections, click Next to install the networking components.
You can remove any optional network components using the same process, only this time, remove the check mark beside the components that are no longer required.
