Geeks spend a lot of hard earned cash to keep up with the latest computing advancements. The desire to have the fastest and coolest gear is an addiction that is familiar to many, but unfortunately, new releases seem to happen every nanosecond. While it’s nice to see technology advancing, it’s a trend that is not so nice on the wallet. One of the biggest objects of bragging rights is the processor. Many study the CPU competition, overclock, and do anything else that they can keep their speed higher than that of their buddy’s processor. If you’d like to run a few benchmark tests on your processor to see how it stacks up against the competition, then check out StraightMARK 2005.
The software simply examines your processor in a variety of different tests, and then outputs the findings to a text file and a graphical HTML file. The text file merely gives you the number results of your processor, but the HTML file shows you several understandable graphs comparing your processor to others on the market - both new and old. This will help you to visually check and see if you’re getting everything that you should get out of your processor. If you’re falling a little bit short, it may be time for some investigative troubleshooting.
