Send A Fax From A Windows-Based Program (XP Pro/Home)
Once you have the Fax service installed and configured, you can begin sending and receiving faxes from your XP computer. You can send a fax directly from a Windows-based program such as Microsoft Word 2002. The process is a relatively simple process as outlined below.
The following steps demonstrate how you can send a fax in XP through Microsoft Word 2002.
- Open Microsoft Word 2002.
- Create or open the document that you want to fax.
- From the File menu, click Print. The Print dialog box will appear.
- Use the drop down arrow beside the name box and select Fax.
- Click OK. The Send Fax Wizard launches. Click Next.
- Type in the recipient information such as the name and fax number. Click Next.
- Select the cover page template that you want to use. Click Next.
- Type in a subject line and note for the fax cover page. Click Next.
- In the Schedule dialog box, select when you want to send the fax. Choose the fax priority. Click Next.
- Review the fax summary and click Finish.
