Hotmail Outage As Server Goes Down, Users Unable To Access E-mail

Hotmail experienced a service outage this week, as countless Hotmail customers were unable to access their e-mail due to a server going down.
According to a CNET report, a Microsoft customer service representative confirmed the outage on Wednesday, and blamed it on a faulty server, but refused to discuss the exact nature of the problem, or to indicate how many customers’ e-mail accounts were implicated.
While it is not known how many of Hotmail’s 187 million customers were affected, it is known that customers using both the basic free Hotmail service and customers who pay for beefed up storage were unable to access their Hotmail accounts.

I am pretty upset at this, I need to get on Hotmail pretty bad, and I have been having issues on and off for the last 2 weeks, and now I have no access at all. I cannot get on MSN Messenger, which means I am cut off from my friends and family that don’t live in town anymore. Hopefully they will get the issue fixed asap, as it seems even a day is a bit much for just a server going down, when you have the money MS has.
