- Add a Comment
When you install Windows XP, you are required to provide registration information including your name and organization. This information is then visible on the General tab from the System Properties dialog box (right click My Computer and click Properties).
You can change the registration information after you install Windows XP by editing the registry.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

Very helpful. System support for my PC could not even tell me how to resolve this.

How do you change/remove the picture in that properties box? I.E. the company brand that sold the computer.
Thanks

Thank u so so so much DIANA!
I m very happy n lucky to share this trick.
I ve installed xp sp3 n it runs cool on my dual core 1.6 ghz with a 1gb ram.The only problem was whenever i try to install a application or c windows properties it displayed that the computer is registered on ‘*’ .It looks very irritating .But now there is no limit of my happiness whenever i c my name in place of that vulgar ‘*’. Thank u once again diana hope u will keep helping the people like this only.
