The sophistication of children’s shows today is mind-boggling. The topics and subject matter are way beyond what the adults of today dealt with in their youth - topics that were best left to their parents. Today we look at a site that celebrates one of the best (and earliest) kids’ television shows. It is one that makes you wish for the days of yesteryear.

The Howdy Doody Show is about a wooden puppet named Howdy. There are his friends Buffalo Bob, Princess Summerfall Winterspring, Dilly Dally, and the list goes on. Those simple, dynamic words introduced a new mass communications medium and molded a generation. The “Baby Boomers” had a voice. That voice was my very best friend’s: radio performer and musician “Buffalo Bob” Smith. I am his trusty sidekick, a twenty-seven inch marionette. You can call me Howdy.
