Q: I have several fonts that I’ve downloaded to my Windows XP computer, but my problem is that I don’t really know how to install them. Also, I’ve noticed that there are a bunch of fonts referenced in the programs on my computer that I never use. Can I delete some of them?
A: Installing some new fonts is a great way to spice up the way you deal with text. I personally use Verdana day in and day out, but then again, I’m not a designer. What matters to me is that I’m able to scroll through pages of text and not get a headache from a nauseating font. Whether in word processing or design, changing your font can be the one thing that gives you that extra ounce of inspiration that you need to complete a project. To learn how to install those fonts that you downloaded, check out this page.
As you’ll see, the process of installing fonts is very simple. Now that you’ve done it once, you’ll probably go on a font scavenger hunt and collect a truckload of others to add to your collection, and eventually, you may wish to discard some of the unused ones. Removing fonts is even easier than installing them, and those instructions are also on this page.
