Customize The Logon Screen Saver

If you have configured your computer to use CTRL+ALT+DEL for logging on, the log on dialog box will appear when you start the computer. This dialog box will remain on your computer screen for 15 minutes. If a user does not log on during this time, the default log on screen saver will kick in. You can change the default log on screen saver by editing the registry.

  1. Click Start and click Run.

  2. Type in regedt32 and click OK.
  3. Expand the following: HKEY_USERS\DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop.
  4. Double click SCRNSAVE.EXE.
  5. Change the Value data to the name of the screen saver you want to use.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Close the Registry Editor.

Keep in mind that the screen saver you want to use must be in the Windows\System32 directory.
