Enabling “Show Updates” In Windows XP SP2

Windows XP Service Pack 2 introduces new features and several enhancements to existing ones. One such feature is the “Show Update” option for installed programs. This feature allows software vendors to include a list of updates that have been installed along with their program. You can easily enable this new feature using the steps listed below.

  1. Click Start and click Control Panel.

  2. Double click the Add or Remove Program applet.
  3. Select the “Show Updates” option at the top of the window.

Once this feature is enabled, updates will appear as an indented list under a program. It will also tell you the exact date when the program updated was installed on your computer. To remove list of updates installed for a program, simply complete the steps listed above and remove the check beside the “Show Updates” option. The program updates will immediately disappear.
