Scheduling a PowerPoint Presentation Broadcast

PowerPoint 2002 gives you the ability to broadcast a presentation over the Internet or on your company network. Instead of waiting for specific people to view your presentation, you can broadcast it so everyone can view it at the same time. If you are broadcasting a presentation to 10 users or less, you can simply use Internet Explorer to broadcast. Otherwise, you will have to use Windows Media Player.

In any case, you will have to schedule when your PowerPoint presentation will be broadcast. You can do so in PowerPoint 2002 using the following steps:

  1. Open the PowerPoint presentation you want to broadcast.

  2. Click Slide Show, point to Online Broadcast, and select Settings.
  3. If prompted, click Yes to install this feature and insert the Office XP CD.
  4. Change the Audio/Video setting to None.
  5. In the File Location section, type in the path to a shared location.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Slide Show, point to Online Broadcast, and select Schedule a Live Broadcast.
  8. Fill in the appropriate information.
  9. Click the Schedule button. This opens an Outlook Form that allows you to set the time and date for the broadcast. You can also send e-mail invitations to specific users.

Your PowerPoint broadcast has now been scheduled to occur at a specific time.
