There’s a Game Invasion going on, but before I post my review of a newly-acquired Nintendo DS, I thought I’d tease you to this tiny tidbit. Remember your first Rubik’s Cube? I got one in my stocking when I was a kid - ultimately had to switch the stickers around in order to “solve” the puzzle. On another Christmas morning, I got an Atari system. Seems the two are finally coming together, per AtariAge:
Curator of the extensive Pong history site Pong-Story, discovered a unique version of the 2600 game Rubik’s Cube two years ago. The version Atari released is a pretty simple 2D affair, but this prototype is an astonishing 3D version of the game. We have now added the binary of this game to our database, so you can download it and experience the game in your favorite Atari 2600 emulator. You can learn more about Rubik’s Cube 3D by visiting this page put together about it, as well as a more extensive review over at AtariProtos.com. You might also enjoy reading this thread in our forums that was started when the prototype was revealed two years ago.
