Customize the Text in Your Comments (Word 2002)
This is one tip that I’ve really found useful. Being a writer and all, I am forever responding to comments in my documents from editors or adding comments of my own. I’ve often wondered about increasing the size of the fonts in my comments but never bothered to take a few minutes to figure out how to do it. Thankfully, a reader alerted me to the proper steps, and here is what you have to do.
- Within Word, select Styles and Formatting from the Format menu. The Styles and Formatting pane will appear.
- Click the drop down arrow beside Show and click Custom. If the Comment Text option is already available under the Pick formatting to apply list, you do not need to perform this step and you can jump to step 7.
- The Format Settings dialog box appears.
- Under Category, use the drop down arrow to select All Styles.
- Scroll through the list of Styles to be visible and place a check beside comment text.
- Click OK.
- Under Pick formatting to apply, right click Comment Text and click Modify.
- In the Modify Styles dialog box, select the formatting options you want to use and click OK.
