Keeping Up With The Time

In the bottom corner of your Windows XP desktop (as well as previous versions of Windows), you’ll find the current time for your local time zone. Not having a clock in my office, I like knowing this time is correct.

Windows XP makes it easy to keep current with the time because it has a built-in synchronization feature that will automatically synchronize the time on your computer with an Internet time server.

You can enable this feature (although it should be enabled by default), by right-clicking the time in the bottom corner of your desktop and clicking Adjust date and Time. From the Date and Time Properties dialog box, click the Internet Time tab. Make sure there is a check beside the option to Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server. You can also manually update the time by clicking the Update Now button. Click OK to apply any changes.

Help! my computer is loosing it’s time. I will reset it to the correct time, and then about an hour later I will have to reset it again. It will be 5 to 10 behind.
