PC Shutdown Theory

Here is another PC concern/tip that was submitted by a Lockergnome reader. So here is another theory on PC shutdowns that deserves some serious consideration. Most of us don’t like seeing little dust bunnies sitting around our house so we battle them by wiping them away or sucking them up with a vaccum. However, when on a cleaning frenzy, you may forget about your PC. Trust me, it is more than likely not dust free.
We all are pumping air through our PCs, which contains a certain amount of dust. The dust likes to collect on EVERYTHING. WHAT IF that dust also contains minute metallic particles? Could it not short out the pins between legs of the computer chips, causing the very erratic shutdowns we sometimes encounter?
So when you are getting rid of the dust around your house, why not spend the extra few moments cleaning the dust out of your PC? Each time you have the case of your PC open, make SURE to give the entire motherboard a cleaning. Oh, and on that note, please don’t be sticking your vacuum hose inside your PC. Buy yourself a can of compressed air and that will do the trick.
