Disarming Confirmation Dialog

Q: Whenever I go to delete a file, that confirmation dialog appears. It just seems like an extra step that I don’t need to take, and I would like to get rid of it. How do I go about doing that in Windows XP?
A: That confirmation window is really there for your protection. When we drive the mouse, our fingers can sometimes get a little too active and accidentally select things that we don’t want. Instead of just dropping the file straight into the Recycle Bin, the confirmation window allows you to verify that that’s what you really want to do.
If you still don’t see a need for it, right-click on the Recycle Bin and select Properties. Under the Global tab, uncheck the option called “Display delete confirmation dialog.” No longer will you be asked to confirm your trash actions. Just make sure that you don’t unknowingly delete something vital!
