Technology has changed our lives over the past 40 years. My children cannot understand how my brother and I lived with only one television set and one channel. The science fiction of yesterday has become the science fact of today. This Family First site takes a look at a site that explores some of the technological changes that have happened in the past century.

Called the Greatest Engineering Achievements of the 20th Century, this site looks at everything from household appliances to television to radio to drinking water and highways. For example, in the Water Supply and Distribution section, you can see how society has eliminated most waterborne diseases, and ensure that the water we drink is clean and safe. The Imaging section looks at how we can now see the tiniest atoms and the furthest stars and the miracles of x-ray and MRI views of the body. Technology is constantly changing, the computers that we used only 10 years ago are considered dinosaurs today, and the one you are using to read this will be obsolete in another 10 years. [...]
