Yeah, yeah, Mozilla has reported another security update, but at least a fix is in place already. So be sure to download the latest Mozilla (1.7.2), Firefox (0.93), and Thunderbird (0.7.3). The patch takes care of a patched vulnerability shared by most browsers that could allow the bad guys (and gals) to embed malicious code into PNG files and cause a buffer overflow. You can read specifics at the advisory. Read reader comments.
Note these vulnerabilities were caught and patched before the hackers could take advantage of them. The Mozilla Foundation works to be proactive with regard to security as it has announced in its newest Security Bug Bounty Program.
