Have you recently asked your file associations how they’re doing? So many of the programs that we download today try to take over our associations, and this can be very aggravating. Sometimes when you uninstall certain applications, the associations are completely lost, with nowhere to turn. I’m sure that most of us have had to deal with confused file associations at one time or another. To regain some control, check out FileAsoc.

This program allows you to examine and edit the registry settings that tell Windows how to open your programs. As you can probably imagine, you should be very careful while using this program. You can create new associations, and repair corrupted ones. You may also add new right-click menu items, and change the icon displayed in Explorer. Some good information about the registry and how Windows opens files is included to give you some basic understanding about what you’re doing. Those of you who get a thrill out of customizing your machine will enjoy FileAsoc. [320K] [Win9x/2k/XP] [FREE] [DOWNLOAD] [Brandon Watts]
