How to Have a Killer Resume Even When You’re Entry-Level - without Lying - Part Four

Affiliations

If the rest of your resume is strong and your affiliations aren’t related to your desired position, you can safely leave your affiliations off your resume. However, if your resume is weak in other areas, in addition to job-related affiliations, add things of a networking nature.

Any sorority or fraternity affiliations can help, so can associations you belong to that have large national or regional memberships. Brand name affiliations are handy as well - an affiliation I once had with an official Microsoft consumer group helped to get me employed.
