What They’re Looking For Runs Your Business

So you want to have a successful online business?

What do you need?

A hungry audience? Sure.

A great product? Yes (although with good enough marketing? Sadly, you could launch with something mediocre.)

What you really need is to be what your client is looking for, where they’re looking for it, AND when they’re not.

So what the hell does that mean?

It means that even with the best product, targeted to the widest audience waving their open wallets in the air, it’s all for naught if your customer can’t find you.

Think about this. When we go online, and we want to find something, either we get online and look for it, or we run into it and think to ourselves “Hey, I’ve been looking for one of these.”

It isn’t just about being optimized and linked, it’s about being “findable” — you have to be where the eyes are. Right now, the eyes are wandering around social media sites. If you’re there, supporting your client’s interests that just happen to coincide with your marketing message, you’re the known entity, the advisor, the friend.

And when it comes time to buy, the experience is risky enough without increasing unknowns. So you buy from someone you know.

So what are the ways in which you can get found? We should talk about that for a few weeks, eh?
