It Would Have Been Easier Without the Yahoo! Snafu

This is more to remind me to ask someone at Yahoo! to fix it when they have time than to pick on them. Yahoo! is my secret lover behind Google’s back. What a harlot I am!
So here’s the broken link I found. I saved something at Yahoo! My Web. On the confirmation page that tells me my input was saved, I got the following message:
Did You Know?
On My Web, it just got easier to connect to people and discover the best of the Web. Read more.
Notice, however, that the “Read more” link is broken.
Furthermore, I would expect a better 404 error page out of Yahoo! The one I got said:
Not Found
The requested URL http:// was not found on this server.
I think the original link was supposed to go to one of the Yahoo Search Blog MyWeb Update Announcements, which I figured out, ironically, by using a site:ysearchblog.com myweb in Google. Not because I think Google is better, but because I remember how to do that in Google and didn’t feel like finding out if the same thing worked the same way in Yahoo!.
If I was a little smarter, I probably would have realized that it’s almost the same link, only without the “myweb” directory, http://www.ysearchblog.com/archives/0003… instead of http://www.ysearchblog.com/archives/mywe….
Now, I have several options for reporting this, and exploring them all would have taken longer to report than writing this post. When I have time in about an hour, I’ll probably post on on the link at Yahoo!’s search blog, and then click on the feedback link in MyWeb, and I can just cut and paste my comments from here.
Bet you $20 that Yahoo! finds this post before I get back though. It’s very client-conscious like that…

You don’t think Google is better, and you are in tech? You got to be kidding me.

Hey Ken,
Never said that. If Yahoo is my lover, Google is my husband. It’s kind of an inside joke relating to some articles I wrote two years ago… Thanks for commenting!
