Competition is a good thing. Despite my own love of Adsenes at the end of each month, there is something to be said for a solid plan B. From the looks of things, “MicroHoo’s” adCenter could be just what the doctor order.
Despite not being able to really gain the quality one gets in Adsense ads yet, a Microsoft-Yahoo advertising solution makes a lot of sense should things ever go south for advertisers and publishers using Google solutions.
The real challenge at this point, is going to be seeing if adCenter is able to gain enough advertisers for it to become any kind of competition to Google’s offerings. I am skeptical early on, but with the recession after-shock raging on, it’s possible that there is enough interest that ad deals and other incentives might be enough to make this work.
