The 3D Web?
We have all seen and in most cases, experienced what 3D gaming has to offer. Perhaps not the kind of 1950’s 3D movie experience, rather a 3d world in which the character you are playing can move about to do his thing.
Well now it appears the next step in this evolution is about to take place, but this time with the Web. From the folks that brought us oversight for OpenGL, comes WebGL…for your browser.
Will we be seeing any of this new technology anytime soon? Perhaps, but it is tough to say at this point. Due to the fact that all of this depends on the browser support, web devs keeping up with it and of course the users wanting this, I personally believe much of this technology is at least a year or two off.

It’s already being experimented with. Have a look at http://www.quakelive.com It’s fairly impressive how much they’ve already done.
