Looks as if the EFF is on the rampage with various three letter government agencies in their minds eye. It seems that the EFF is concerned over how these agencies are using data collected over social networking sites.
The EFF also argues that they need access to this information to they can provide a public awareness of how these networks are being used to us and to Congress. And many people seems to agree with the EFF’s stand on this.
Others however, might point out that unlike a phone call or email, most of these social network communications are done in a shotgun like format to communicate with lots of people at once. So expecting privacy, might be unlikely at best. The EFF however clearly feels this goes beyond privacy. But it is difficult to say for sure what the US Government is really trying to do.
